I’ve been working in online marketing for more than 18 years. As a specialist, on the client side and as an entrepreneur. I bring that experience into the way I work: listening carefully, asking the right questions, weighing up the options honestly and making sure plans actually happen. Preferably with people who take their work seriously, but not themselves too seriously.

MY STORY
From agency owner to freelancer in Spain.
I’ve been working in online marketing for more than 18 years. I started out as an SEO and SEA specialist, also worked client-side, and later built an online marketing agency together with my business partner. For more than fifteen years, I was co-owner, led a team of 15 people and worked with all kinds of clients. In 2022, we sold the agency.
A year later, I moved to Spain with my family, where my wife is from. I’ve been working independently ever since. I’m at my best in roles that need overview, broad experience and structure. I like to understand the what and the why, I’m a big believer in structure, and I see it as my job to create the conditions for specialists to do their best work.
What doesn’t suit me as well? Endless meetings, internal politics or big plans that mostly end up in a drawer. I’d rather be somewhere I can work alongside specialists and help turn plans into real results.
How I like to work.
Down-to-earth
Born and raised in the east of the Netherlands. I like to keep things grounded, keep it simple and say things as they are. That’s how I prefer to work with people.
Honest
I’d rather say what I really think than tell people what they want to hear. Always with good reasoning and respect. In the end, the work is better for it.
Listen first
I want to understand what’s really going on before jumping to solutions. Listen carefully, ask questions and understand what someone actually needs. It saves a lot of unnecessary hassle.
Together
The best work happens when everyone contributes their own expertise. Not one person deciding everything, but building something good together.
Clear
I like clear agreements, clear expectations and a documented structure. It creates calm and helps things actually move forward.
Respect
Everyone deserves the same respect, regardless of role, age or status. Listen to each other, help each other and just be kind. For me, that’s the foundation.

OUTSIDE OF WORK
Life in Spain.
I live in beautiful Catalonia, close to Barcelona, the Mediterranean and the green hills. That’s also where you’ll usually find me in my free time. Out on a long hike, for example. Or enjoying Spanish food with family and friends, going to a football match or reading a good book.
